James Eric Bennett – Bedford

James Eric Bennett, 65, of Bedford, died at 3:35 am on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born January 5, 1950 in Bedford, he was the son of Harold and Virginia Rose (Faris) Bennett. He married Claudia Stipp on June 22, 1973 and she survives. He was an engineer/manager in the night vision and bio chemical warfare department at NWSC Crane. He was a member of the Tunnelton United Methodist Church, N.R.A., and was a bronze master gardener with the Land of Limestone Master Gardeners.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia, of Bedford; two sons, Thomas Bennett and Eric Bennett and wife, Robin Kelso Bennett, all of Bedford; two grandchildren, Madelyne and Carter Bennett; a brother, Jo Bennett of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will follow in the Tunnelton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 7th and from Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, December 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a rosary service will be conducted at 6 p.m. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the I.U. Simon Cancer Center.
