William “Mike” Stevenson – Bedford

William “Mike” Stevenson, 70, of Bedford died at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his residence.
Born August 19, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN he was the son of William Warren and Mary Kathryn (Clements) Stevenson. He married Elaine May on March 19, 1971 in Spencer, IN and she survives. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School with the class of 1964. He was a member of the Springville Christian Church and the Bedford Masonic Lodge F & AM #14. A veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a boiler tech. Mike retired from Bedford North Lawrence High School as a security guard. He was an artist who enjoyed sketching and painting.
Survivors include his wife Elaine of Bedford; six children: Kristi Rowblewski and husband Andy of Camby, IN, Kim Stipp and husband Nathan of Bedford, Darnelle Stevenson of Springville, John Stevenson of Springville, Kathy Groseclose and husband Bill of Martinsville, and Scott Martindale and wife Kelly of Springville; 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, January 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, January 25th. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday.
