Helen J. (Batman) Vaught, 88, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born September 23, 1927, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Roy O. and Dorothy (Fields) Batman.
She married Charles W. Vaught on May 22, 1947; he preceded her in death in 1997.
Helen was a graduate of Shawswick High School, Class of 1946. She was a member of Dive Christian Church. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley (Larry) Tirey, Sharon Kay Vaught and significant other, Larry Krouse, and Sheila (Cliff) Rogers; five grandchildren, Susan (Daren) Eads, Janet Lynn (Trent) Middleton, Bret H. Tirey, Christopher Rogers, and Nathan Rogers; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary A. Batman; one brother, Walter L. (Anita) Batman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; three brothers, Marlin, Raymond, and Charles Batman; and one sister, Elsie Simpson.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.Friends may call on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
