Frank F. East – Bedford

Frank F. East, 91, of Bedford, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on August 11, 1924, in Somerset, KY, the son of James and Thelma (Mayfield) East. He married Mildred L. Coulter in 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2011.
Surviving are six sons, F. Darrell (Tana) East, Sheridan, CA, Ed (Kathy) East, Silverdale, WA, Alan (Diane) East, Cincinnati, OH, Tim (Leona) East, Bedford, Steve (Nancy) Knoxville, MD, and Pat (Anna) East, Bedford; three daughters, Mary Anne Wargo and Karen Shafer, Bedford, and Linda (John) Lee, Severn, MD; three sisters, Opal Beltran, CA, Ruby and Carolyn East, Bedford; three brothers, Carl, Cecil and Terry East, all of Bedford; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Thereasa Gail; his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
He was retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, IN in 1979 and was a member of the Priory of St. John Roman Catholic Church.
The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with funeral services at 10 a.m.both at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Fr. Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens, Bedford. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by members of American Legion, Gillen Post #33, Bedford. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jerry Doyle Rose – French Lick
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at Springs Valley United Methodist Church in French Lick for Jerry Doyle Rose, 78, French Lick, who died July 12 at his home after a battle with brain cancer.
Born Aug. 31, 1937, in Washington, IN, he was the son of Thomas Freedly and Inez Waggoner Rose. He married Sharon Sullivan Lancaster on July 4, 1976, and she survives.
He graduated from French Lick High School and worked with his father at Rose Photographers at the French Lick Springs Hotel. He retired from Carpenter Body Works and had also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Springs Valley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of French Lick; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Rose of Indiana; two sons, Rick Rose of Oklahoma and Randall Rose of Indiana; one stepdaughter, Sheri Lancaster of Indiana; one sister, Frieda Lagenour of Indiana; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kerrill Rose; and one son, Timothy Rose.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Ralph Purkhiser. His body will be donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine, as he requested, with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Indiana University School of Medicine, American Cancer Society or Springs Valley United Methodist Church.
Glen Mitchell – Bedford
Glen Mitchell, 76, of Bedford, died at 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Jesse B. “J.B.” Lane – Mitchell
May 6, 1933 – July 11, 2016
Jesse B. “J.B.” Lane, 83, of Mitchell, passed away at 4:29 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 6, 1933, in Mitchell, he was the son of Jesse and Mary (Cole) Lane. He married Donna “Kay” White August 17, 1957. Jesse had worked for Arthur Paving, Hancock Trucking, and Lawrence County Highway Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife, Donna “Kay” Lane, Mitchell; children, David (Tammy) Lane, Mitchell, Robert (Betty) Lane, Mitchell, Jim Lane, Mitchell; daughter-in- law, Beth Johnson, Medora; sister, Lettie (Walter) Coffman, Bedford; grandson, Bradley David Lane, Mitchell
His parents; son, Roger Dale Lane; granddaughter, Jessica Kay Lane; siblings, Roy Lane, Hershel Lane, Elwood Lane, Nancy Burlington, and Betty Kotch; and daughter- in-law, Rita Lane, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
