Russell Jeffrey “Jeff” Blackburn – Lafayette

Russell Jeffrey “Jeff” Blackburn, 59, of Lafayette, was born into eternal life at 11 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Bedford.
Born September 25, 1956 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Russell and Marilyn (Trisler) Blackburn. He married Dolly Moutardier on August 20, 1977. He was an engineer for Duke Energy for forty years. He was a member of the Linnwood Church of Christ. Jeff was an active member in the March of Dimes campaign and Habitat for Humanity. Lovingly known as Peffy, Gimpy, Uncle Jeff, and Colonel Clodd. He was a longtime “Survivor” enthusiast with fifteen years of “Survivor” audition tape submissions.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly, of Lafayette; a son, Corey Blackburn of Lafayette; a daughter, Emily Griffith and husband, Steve, of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Isla and Mazo Griffith; his parents, Russell and Marilyn Blackburn; a sister, Julia Wimmer and husband, Dave, ofZionsville; two brothers, Jody Blackburn and wife, Becky of Mitchell, and Jay Blackburn and wife, Irma, of Bedford; lots of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Tuesday, July 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Monday, July 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Grant Cole King, infant son of Steve and Nicole (Bowmer) King, died at 7:05 am on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his mama and daddy, Nicole L. and Steve M. King, of Bedford; two brothers, Matthew B. King and Kane A. Fishel; papaw, Victor Bowmer; E, Kellie Todd; mamaw, Subrena Terrell; papaw, Kevin Terrell; uncles, Michael Bowmer and Eric King; great grandparents, Margaret Bowmer, James Allgood, Margaret King and Phillip King.
He was preceded in death by papaw, Darrell King and great grandpa, Walter Bowmer, Sr.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, July 20th at Port Williams Cemetery with John Lee officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 3 pm on Wednesday, July 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to Methodist Hospital Labor & Delivery.
