Gordon Keach Emery – Bedford

Gordon Keach Emery, 80, died on Friday, October 28, 2016.
Born in Bedford on December 17, 1935, he was the son of Dr. Charles B. and Edith Keach Emery. He married Kay Mayo on August 22, 1959.
He was a graduate of Bedford High School, the University of Michigan, and Indiana University School of Law. He served as Law Clerk for Judge Cale J. Holder in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He practiced law in Lawrence County for over 50 years. Gordon incorporated and served as the first secretary of the Lawrence County Community Foundation. He served as a Lawrence County Deputy Prosecutor and as Bedford City Attorney for 24 years. He also served as lawyer in council on the Board of Directors of the Bedford Federal Savings Bank. He was the Republican member of the Lawrence County Election Board, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Elks Club, Bedford Jaycees, and Phi Gamma Delta. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan, and was a fan of Indiana University basketball. He loved music, and played banjo and sang the the Residue Jazz Band. He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
He is survived by his wife Kay, and a son, Steven Keach Emery, of Bloomington, and two granddaughters, Sarah (Karl) Emery Fetzer, Churchville, PA and Laura Elizabeth Emery, Gainesville, GA.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, 15th and “L”Sts., with Rev. Steven Braden officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford and on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the service, at the church. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford, following the service.

John Lambrecht – Bedford

John Lambrecht, 86, of Bedford, died Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born June 22, 1930 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Edward and Helen Dorothy Hawkins Lambrecht.
He married Dorothy Earl on May 22, 1954 and she survives. He was a high school graduate, graduating with the Shawswick High School class of 1948. He retired from Central Foundry in 1996 after working 46 years. John was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son Dennis Lambrecht and his wife Sarah, of Bedford; one sister, Dorothy Marie Lambrecht Sherwood of Bryantsville, two nieces, and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2nd in the Elmwood Chapel at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mike Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1st at Day & Carter Mortuary.
