James C. “Jim” Stapp – Bedford

James C. “Jim” Stapp, 64, of Bedford, died at 11:23 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Westview Nursing and Rehab.
Born December 5, 1952 in Bedford, he was the son of Benjamin Eugene and Mary Rhue (Hodges) Stapp. He was an engineer for Bowen Engineering of Indianapolis and a member of the sons of the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
Survivors include a daughter, Allison Benge and husband, Matthew, of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Mattison Benge; two sisters, April Stapp Collins, of Bedford and Kim Vest and husband, Michael, of Bloomfield; nieces and nephews, Stevie Roach, Kyle Collins, Jeremy Vest and wife, Brandy, Stacy and Chad Lowry; great niece and nephew, Zoey and Oliver Roach.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rick Catlett officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, January 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
