Audrey Wynn – Mitchell

Audrey Lucille Wynn, 89, of Mitchell, passed peacefully on January 24, 2017 at her home in Mitchell, after an extended illness.
Born February 16, 1927 in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Courtland and Myrtle (Moffatt) Pruitt. She graduated from Mitchell High School with the class of 1945. She married Kenneth (Leo) Wynn on December 29 1946 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. She loved music and received a cornet scholarship to the University of Louisville. She also loved to sew. Her love for travel took her to over 35 countries. She was a member of the Bono United Methodist Church where she served as song leader for many years. She was also active in the Lawrence County Democratic Party and the Lawrence County Farm Bureau for many years. During her lifetime, Mrs. Wynn worked at Crane NAD, Trav-ler in Orleans, Root’s Plumbing in Bedford, and she served as a Lawrence County Deputy Assessor before retiring from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, where she worked for over 20 years, in both Bedford and Mitchell.
Mrs. Wynn is survived by her son, Steve, of Orleans; nephews, Chris Green (Amelia), of Mooresville, Chris Ball (Daphne), of San Francisco, CA, Ted Ball (Jeanne), of Los Alamos, NM and a niece, Becky Randolph, of Ann Arbor MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Dymple Green, of Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Colleen Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Friday, January 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
