Gilbert “Gib” W. Wagner – Bedford

Gilbert “Gib” W. Wagner, 93, of Bedford, died at 4 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born January 14, 1924 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Walter and Iva (Hackler) Wagner. He married Betty Richards on March 18, 1944 and she preceded him in death on February 7, 2015. He retired from General Motors in 1980 and was a member of the First Baptist Church and U.A.W. Local #440.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobbi Jean Dailey, of Ellettsville, Sherry A. Hudson and husband, Phil, of Bloomington and Sondra Wagner, of Ellettsville, Donna Myers and husband, Dr. Jim Myers, of Johnson City, TN; three granddaughters, Jeanette Stolz, of Bloomington, Susie Hammersly, of Cape Coral, FL, and Jennifer Houston and husband, Greg, of Jackson, GA; a grandson, Brandon Hudson and wife, Cassie, of Bloomington; ten great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Norma Wagner, Virginia Concannon both of Bedford, Linda Richards of Indianapolis, and Loretta Richards of Mitchell; a brother-in- law, John Richards and wife Gail of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 70 years, Betty, and two sisters, Joy Helen Smith and Wanda M. Wagner; two brothers, Ray and Robert Wagner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Silverville Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
