Geneva M. Byrd – Bedford

Geneva M. Byrd, 83, of Bedford, died at 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born September 22, 1933, in London, KY, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Sara E. (Sproles) Grogan. She married James Byrd on January 8, 1955 and he died October 2, 2013. She was a homemaker and had been employed at RCA.
Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Wellman Nicholson and husband, Bruce, Suzie Martinez and husband, David, Anna Henderson and husband, Raymond Judy Reef and husband, Doug; two sons, Buddy Connerly and wife, Joy, and Donald P. Byrd; twenty-one grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Douglas and husband, Gordon, and Michelle Bennett; one brother, John P. Jones and wife, Geraldine; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Buddy Grogan.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 th at the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery with Sister Becky Ryan officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
