Ora Reva Thompson – Springville

Ora Reva Thompson, 93, of Springville, died at 2:38 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born May 5, 1923, in Wayne Co., KY, she was the daughter of Harrison and Nannie Ethel (Cox) Powell. She married Arter J. Thompson on November 8, 1937 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2013. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. She was a great cook who took pride in her cooking, especially her Sunday dinners. She taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Thompson, and wife, Edna, of Bloomfield, Arter Vernon Thompson, and wife, Peggy, and Keith Thompson, and wife, Sheila, all of Springville; three daughters, Geraldine Kohlman, and husband, Dick, of Tucson, AZ, Elaine Thompson, of Springville, and Virga Huett, and husband, Millard, of Ashdown, AR; a sister, Cora Roberts, of Sterns, KY; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; a sister-in- law, Lois Powell, of Wayne Co., KY
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three daughters, Cora Karen, Norma Sue and Patricia; three brothers, Hobert, Hubert, and Issac Powell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th at the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Springville with Bro. Larry Hawkins, Bro. Keith Thompson and Bro. Vernon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the church.
