James Fonzo Grubb – Mitchell

James Fonzo Grubb, 71, of Mitchell, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence.
Born January 1, 1946, in Bedford, he was the son of William and Grace (Harris) Grubb. He married Linda “Penny” Edmonson July 11, 1964. James was a long time employee at Sipes Body Shop and was a member of Fishing Creek Chapel. He served in the Indiana National Guard and enjoyed camping with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Linda “Penny” Grubb of Mitchell; children, Cheryl (Darrell) Boone of Mitchell, Ron (Polly) Grubb of Mitchell, Missy (Tim) Barksdale of Campbellsburg, Jamie (William) Thacker of Mitchell; grandchildren, Levi (Kipany) Fletcher, Ky (Stephanie) Grubb, Nikki (Zach) Speer, Addie Grubb, Andi (Nathan) Bell, Laci (Isaac) Stone, Isaiah Barksdale, Lindi Barksdale, Chandler Boone, Racheal Stevens, and Jason Boone; great grandchildren, Emily, Drako, Kaden, Jaxon, Morgan, Gunnar, Maddison, Maverick, and Carter; siblings, Bob Grubb of Orleans, Nancy Mundy of Bedford, Sue Schuller of Orleans, Becky Hackney of Orleans, Randy Grubbs of Texas
His parents and grandson, Jonah Grubb, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Kyle Stewart officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
