Alta Mae Cox – French Lick
Alta Mae Cox, 87, of French Lick, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.
Born July 25, 1930, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Calvert Kelso and Hilma Anne (Parsons) Hardin. She married Dennis Parks in 1950, and later married Donald Cox in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1975. Alta was a certified nursing assistant and had been employed at the Gorge and Medco Center. She graduated from French Lick High School in 1950 and was an animal lover.
Survivors include her children, Diane Groves of Bedford, Bob Parks of West Baden Springs, Deidra Parks of Orleans, Michelle Patton of Paoli; grandchildren, Jeff Buffington, Kristie Buffington, Mindy Pendley, Jeremy Parks,Chad Parks, Erica Meredith, Kyle Cox, and Tyler Cox; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren
Her parents; husband; grandson, Jordan Groves; and siblings, Calvert Donald Hardin, Vesta Arnold Hardin, and Anna Marie Doerphinghaus, preceded her in death.
Cremation was chosen with burial at a later date in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Jackie Lee Arnold – Mitchell
February 17, 1934 – September 30, 2017
Jackie Lee Arnold, 83, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born February 17, 1934, in Lawrence County, he was the sonof Russell and Zemro (Price) Arnold. He married Loretta Hall February 14, 1953, and she preceded him in death May 24, 2011. Jackie retired from General Motors. He enjoyed cards, bottle collecting, gardening, and yard sales. He had hunting and fishing running through his blood. The only thing he loved more was his family.
Survivors include his children, Cathy (Ed) Anderson of Mitchell, Tammy (Jon) Mallot of Mitchell, Kimberly Dee (Troy Johnston) Brinkworth of Mitchell, Jeramie Arnold of Bedford, Stephanie (Jason) McCameron of Mitchell; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Griffin of Bedford, Janice (Doug) Kimble of Mitchell
His parents; wife; sons, Timmy Arnold and Joey Arnold; brothers, Bill Arnold, David Arnold, and Bobby Arnold; and grandson, D. J. Tarr, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jim Russell officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
