Carrie Renea Christie – Scottsburg

Carrie Renea Christie, 54, formerly of Mitchell, left us to be with the Lord on October 14, 2017.
Born June 29, 1963, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Gary Grow and Carolyn (Baker) Melton. She married Michael Scott Christie October 9, 1982. Carrie was a hair stylist and a medical transcriptionist. She attended Turning Point Church, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1981. Carrie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Carrie loved to cook, organize get-togethers, and loved music. Carrie’s smile would light up a room. She was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, sister, daughter, and friend. She loved her family more than anything.
Surviving: husband of 35 years, Michael S. Christie of Scottsburg; son, John Michael Christie (finacee, Aarin Dannheiser) of Scottsburg; daughter, Cara Sue Christie (Emmett Dalton IV) of Campbellsburg; mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Paul Melton of Mitchell; father and stepmother, Gary and Kathy Grow of Williams; grandchildren, Emmett Dalton V and Jessalynn Dalton; brothers, Kevin (Sheryl) Grow of Columbus, Brian (Misty) Grow of Mitchell, Brad (Amy) Grow of Springville. Nathan (Ashley) Grow of Columbus; sisters-in- law, Robin (Randy) Snelling of Scottsburg
Debbie Christie of Madison, and a lot of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lorna and Kenneth Baker, and Floyd and Virginia Grow.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, at Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
