Helen R. Spires – Bedford

Helen R. Spires, 91, of Bedford, died at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born June 9, 1926 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of George and Amanda (Drabin) Barnett. She married Charles E. Spires on November 24, 1943 and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2004. She was a homemaker and member of the Englewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Eugene Spires, of Bedford, Gregory Shane Spires, of Bloomington, Stephen Jerome Spires, of Bedford, and Tracy Dee Spires, of Colorado; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers; three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 12th and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
