John Robert Stroud III – Bedford
June 20, 1953 – December 12, 2018
John Robert Stroud III, 65, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at his residence.
Born June 20, 1953, in Bedford, he was the son of John Robert and Regenia (Brown) Stroud, Jr. He married Katherine Sue Costin on March 1, 1975. John retired from Netshape where he had worked for 30 years. He was a member and elder at the First Assembly of God Church. John graduated from Mitchell High School in 1971 and Oakland City University in 1975. He was active in Little Theater for many years, enjoyed golf, and IU sports. He was an amazing papaw, dad, and husband.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Stroud of Bedford; children, Carrie (Anthony) Owens of Bedford, Skylar Stroud of Bedford, Joel (Theresa) Stroud of Bedford; grandchildren, Innes Owens, Marek Stroud, Asher Owens, Eli Owens, Josiah Stroud, Wrigley Stroud, Josh Wynn and Anna Wynn; siblings, Allison Dee (Mike) Goble of Columbus, Margi Scharbough of San Antonio, Texas, Craig Stroud of Mitchell
His parents and sister, Regina Briscoe, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 16, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor William McKee officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the church.

Barbara Joan Mix, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at I.U. Health Bloomington
Hospital in Bloomington, IN.
Born August 7, 1948 in Rinard, IL to Thomas Jackson and Barbara Twanette (Brown) Phillips. They preceded her in
death. Barbara grew up in Rinard, IL. She graduated from Flora High School in Flora, IL in 1966. She operated a
daycare for many years, caring for many children. Barbara married Larry C. Mix in 1967 in Cisne, IL. They were happily
married for 51 years. Barbara enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her spouse Larry, of Avoca, IN; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Robert Walker, of
Washington, IN and son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Holly Mix, of Springville, IN; six grandchildren, Lauren,
Zachary, and Nicholas Walker, Maewynn, Avonlea, and Eilena Mix; a brother, David (Debbie) Phillips, of Clay City,
IL.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. (CST) Noon (EST) on Thursday, December 27th at the Willow Branch Cemetery in Rinard, IL. Lunch to follow at Cisne Community Center in Cisne, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Barbara’s memory to Boy Scout Troop 282 in Flora, IL.
