(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman suffered a back injury after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sixth and R streets on Monday afternoon.
According to a Bedford Police report, 31-year-old Emily Cuba was traveling west on Sixth Street and had stopped at the intersection of R Street. She told police she looked both ways and then when she looked to her left her 2000 Mercury Nautica Villager was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Impala LS driven by 66-year-old Jennifer Hert of Bedford.
Police say Hert was traveling north on R Street when she says Cuba ran the stop sign and pulled out in front of her vehicle.
Hert told police she didn’t have time to stop to avoid the collision.
A witness who saw the accident told police Cuba failed to stop at the stop sign.
Cuba complained of back pain and was taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
Hert was not injured during the incident.
