Mary Marie VanCleave – Mitchell

Mary Marie VanCleave, 87, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Indiana University Health West Hospital in Avon.
Born August 8, 1931, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Noble and Gladys (Hickman) Brim. She married Billy Eugene VanCleave December 22, 1950, and he preceded her in death August 4, 2007.
Mary retired from Mitchell Community Schools where she served as custodian. She was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ and a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1951.
Survivors include her daughter, Lydia Kumar of Indianapolis; son, Greg VanCleave of Casa Grande, Arizona; brother, Nolan Brim of Tennessee, Betty Chelf of Lebanon; 3 grandchildren
Her parents; husband; and siblings, Ralph Brim, John Brim, Norman Brim, Noble Brim, Jr., Linda Hounshell, and two infants, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
