July’s All-American Ribfest in Indy to Benefit Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch

(INDIANAPOLIS) – For four days in July, the American Legion Mall in downtown Indy will be filled with great food, great music and great times for a great cause – the 2019 All-American Ribfest exclusively benefiting the Indiana Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch.

National award-winning rib teams from across the U.S. are sure to have thousands of Hoosier families following their food and music tastes to the All-American Ribfest for mouth-watering barbeque, contemporary country and classic rock music, games, and prizes for the kids, said Youth Ranch President John Layton.
“WFMS 95.5 and WJJK 104.5, Central Indiana’s favorite country and classic hits radio stations, have joined ranks with sheriffs and deputies on the All-American Ribfest to heighten awareness and raise money to develop our non-profit Youth Ranch for future law enforcement, at-risk kids, young witnesses and victims of crime,” Layton said.

All proceeds to benefit the Indiana Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch
For decades, sheriffs and deputies have hosted county and regional respect-for-law camps for teens. The Youth Ranch, now under development in West Central Indiana, will serve as a permanent home for weeklong leadership and career camps. Because the non-profit will own the property and facilities, weekend retreats can also be offered to comfort young witnesses and victims of crime.
“Located off I-70 between Greencastle and Terre Haute, the Youth Ranch will offer students 62 acres of rolling, wooded terrain and three private lakes. There, teens will learn about substance abuse, cybersecurity, firearms safety, and drone use. In addition, they will learn team building through confidence courses, swimming, canoeing and kayaking, hiking and other healthy activities,” Layton said.
