Norma Gail Armstrong, 84, of Bedford, died at 8:25 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at her residence.
Born October 22, 1934, in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Mitchell and Alice (Jones) Staggs. She married Richard A. Armstrong and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1989.
She retired from Herff Jones Jewelry in Indianapolis.
Survivors include a son, Timothy E. Armstrong (Diana), of Avoca; a daughter, Valerie L. Armstrong, of Avoca; a grandson, Erin Cook (Bobbie), of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Jennifer Erwin (Bart), of Lafayette, IN; a
a great-grandson, Shade A. Erwin, of Lafayette, IN; a sister, June Pierce, of Bedford; a brother, Danny Staggs (Beverly), of Oolitic; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Melissa D. Armstrong (in infancy); a son, Richard D. Armstrong, and his wife Sherri; a sister, Eva Anderson; brothers, Dwight and Vollie Staggs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day
& Carter Mortuary.
