(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross is excited to announce that Leslie Montgomery will join its executive leadership team as the new Regional Disaster Officer in Indiana.
Montgomery will start her new position on Monday, July 8, 2019. She brings extensive knowledge of disaster response and emergency management, and more than 14 years of experience with the American Red Cross.
“I am honored to join this dedicated team that is committed to the mission of the Red Cross,” said Montgomery. “The passion and excellence in this region are evident, and I look forward to working with the staff and volunteers to help our communities become more resilient and to provide support for those who have experienced a disaster.”
Montgomery has been an employee of the Red Cross since 2014. While employed, she served in various roles, including direct services manager and disaster services manager. Currently, she serves as the senior disaster program manager for the Michigan region. Before becoming an employee, Leslie was a volunteer during Katrina and served in her local chapter sheltering evacuees.
During her time with the Red Cross, Leslie championed many projects and initiatives, including recovery and training as well as developing Disaster Action Team Standards and Procedures.
