(INDIANAPOLIS) – Beacon of Hope Crisis Center to receive grant award check in the amount of $13,300 from 100+ Women Who Care Johnson County.  The giving circle selected Beacon of Hope Crisis Center as the benefit charity during their third-quarter meeting.  The check presentation will take place at 3:00 pm on August 29th at Beacon of Hope Crisis Center located at 6920 S. This generous gift of funds will help assist the crisis center with meeting the urgent direct service needs of the more than 130 clients they are serving each month.  This grant is one of several that the giving circle awards each year to support nonprofit organizations who help make Johnson County a better place to live, work and play.

“I am thrilled to hear this news.  It is my hope that grants like this help these agencies more effectively attract additional support for their critically important work.  Beacon of Hope Crisis Center recognizes that domestic violence and sexual assault are both serious medical health concerns.  Please join me in expanding this gift to do even more by supporting Beacon of Hope Crisis Center in whatever way you or your company can.”  – Caroline Fisher, RN, CEN, SANE-A, Center of Hope, Franciscan Alliance

The grant to Beacon of Hope Crisis Center will ultimately increase access to services and reduce barriers helping survivors get independent and self-sufficient. Most of the grant – $13,300 – will help Beacon of Hope Crisis Center reach and assist more clients by helping to extend our call center operations, remote advocacy capabilities and to provide for additional access and awareness to services.  The 100+ Women Who Care Johnson County grant will bolster Beacon of Hope Crisis Center’s ability to fulfill its mission into the future and meet growing demands for services in Johnson County.

Beacon of Hope Crisis Center’s CEO Sandra Ziebold said, “With this generous mission-impact gift, Beacon of Hope Crisis Center will be more stable in its provision of services, helping so many victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in their path toward healing, independence, and self-sufficiency.  We are so appreciative of this generous gift and so proud of our work making a difference in Johnson County.”

During the single month of July 2019, Beacon of Hope Crisis Center served 131 victims of domestic violence and sexual assault crimes.  45 of those victims were from Johnson County.  Beacon of Hope Crisis Center has a Johnson County satellite office location in partnership with Franciscan Health.  They are also working in partnership with Bargersville Veterinary Clinic located in Johnson County to expand their foster pet program.  The growing partnerships and collaborations are all about comprehensively serving those in need in our community.

“With a growing number of clients asking for Beacon of Hope Crisis Center’s help with advocacy and support services, the ability to successfully secure funds and the required resources to meet the demand has never been more important,” Ziebold said. “We’re honored to have been selected by 100+ Women Who Care Johnson County for this grant and commit to transparency and continued quality delivery of services in our community.”
