(NASHVILLE) – Brown County swept the singles while conquering Bedford North Lawrence 3-2 during boys high school tennis action on Thursday afternoon.
Aaron McCann topped Adam Tlustek 6-1, 6-1 at No.1 singles, Josh Miller stopped Cameron Gratzer 6-2, 6-4 at No.2, and Reid Davis clipped Konley Woodward 6-4, 6-4 at No.3.
BNL won both doubles matches. Cade Provo and Wyatt Scherschel posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Nolan Patterson and Aiden Burt at No.1, while Steven Graham and Graham Turner went the distance to edge Spencer Blee and Noah Cochran 6-0, 6-7 (2-7 in the tiebreaker), 7-5.
“Our No.1 doubles has been playing well,” BNL coach Donnie Thomas said. “The No.2 doubles looked strong in the first set, they had good ground stories, then things shifted.
“We weren’t moving as well and making the shots, but when they needed to win they came out strong in the third set. That’s what we need to keep doing.”
The Stars (3-3) will travel to Loogootee on Tuesday.
