(MONTGOMERY) – Barr-Reeve, ranked No.1 in Class 2A, cruised to a three-set sweep of Bedford North Lawrence during high school volleyball action on Tuesday night.
The Vikings posted a 25-13, 25-10, 25-18 triumph over the Stars (1-9).
“They competed each set and that’s all I can ask for,” BNL coach Jordan Robbins said. “Our team motto is to ‘compete’ and we have been. The scores didn’t fall in our favor, but I’m proud of the kids for sticking with our changed lineup.”
Carlee Kern was 9 of 9 serving with 6 kills and 6 digs, Annie Waggoner had 15 assists and 4 digs, Haley Deckard had 8 kills and 3 digs, Myla Bergman had 4 service points and 7 digs, and Brynlea Bennett was 9 of 11 serving with 4 points, 5 kills and 5 digs.
“Their program is solid,” Robbins said. “We didn’t panic and played each point. We were able to mix up some shots and play to our strengths. We are continuing to work on little things and make improvements.”
BNL played without sophomore Merritt Callahan, who suffered an injury on Saturday.
The Stars will host Floyd Central on Thursday.
