(ROCKVILLE) – Warden Julie Stout and Rockville Correctional Facility are pleased to announce Correctional Officer Michael Ritchey has received an Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) Staff Development and Training Challenge Coin for his exemplary work training new and current staff members.
Rockville Correctional Facility’s own Correctional Officer Michael Ritchey received a visit from Cody Miles of IDOC Staff Development and Training who awarded him with a challenge coin. Officer Ritchey has been a Field Training Officer (FTO) for several years. Field Training Officers are an integral element in the development and training of newly assigned staff. Michael was identified through a recent anonymous survey of staff as the FTO who had the most positive impact on their training journeys. Michael’s ability to effectively and empathetically communicate with staff of varying backgrounds makes him a go-to resource for many fellow correctional employees.
The Staff Development and Training Challenge Coin is an honor bestowed upon those individuals who excel in training endeavors. Imparting essential information effectively, in a way that can be absorbed by the trainee is essential to the ongoing success of any organization including the Indiana Department of Correction.
