(SEYMOUR) – Seymour scored seven seconds into the match en route to a 6-1 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school soccer action on Thursday.
Lillie Wessel tallied the lightning-quick goal and added a second in the first half as the Owls winged to a 4-0 advantage.
“It’s tough giving up a goal in seven seconds, but we were flat and that will happen,” BNL coach D.J. West said. “The girls played hard and never gave up, which I am grateful for the way they give their best, even when the score is not in their favor.”
After the Owls went up 2-0 on an own goal, Wessel struck again at 20:47, and Alyssa Perry put Seymour up four goals at 16:21. The Stars finally answered as Jennifer Ramirez got on the board with 23 seconds left in the half.
Seymour pulled away in the second half as Bailey Lykins (36:16) and Ellie Cornn (15:59) added goals.
The Stars (1-7 overall, 0-6 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) will visit Jeffersonville on Saturday.
