(GALENA) – Floyd Central advanced to the championship match in the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament with a 4-1 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during boys high school tennis on Wednesday afternoon.
The Highlanders will meet Jeffersonville, a 5-0 victor over Seymour in the other semifinal, in the final on Friday. BNL (11-9) will visit Seymour in the third-place match on Friday.
The Highlanders swept the doubles while dropping only two games. Alex Poe and Eric Whitehouse rolled past Cameron Gratzer and Wyatt Scherschel 6-0, 6-1 at No.1, while Aaron Seay and Joe Lincoln stopped Konley Woodward and Steven Graham 6-0, 6-1 at No.2.
The Stars posted their lone victory at No.2 singles as Adam Tlustek topped Clayton Wiseman 6-4, 6-2.
Floyd’s Connor Mason mastered Cade Provo 6-1, 6-0 at No.1 singles while Adam Weiser edged Graham Turner 6-3, 6-2 at No.3.
