Monroe County YMCA Hosting YMCA Northwest Fest Nov. 5-9

(BLOOMINGTON) – The Monroe County YMCA is hosting “YMCA Northwest Fest,” a week of health, fitness, and fun at the Northwest Y.

Located at 1375 N. Wellness Way, the Northwest Y facility will be free and open to the community from November 5-9. Guests can swim in the pool, take a Group Ex class, work out in the Wellness Center, or play basketball in the gym.

Plus, special events will be held throughout the week at the Northwest Y.

Each day will feature specialized classes, workshops, and clinics at the Northwest Y, all of which are free for anyone to attend:

 November 5:

  • Healthy Living Day
  • Self-Defense Seminar
  • General Nutrition Workshop
  • Healthy Eating on a Budget Workshop

November 6: Senior Day

  • Aqua Fit Shallow Group Exercise Class
  • Aqua Fit Deep Group Exercise Class
  • Senior Strength Lunch and Learn

November 7: Group Exercise Day

  • Cardio Kickboxing
  • Pilates Fusion
  • Power Pump

November 8: Splish, Splash Aquatics Day

  • Luau Pool Party Open Swim

November 9: Youth Sports Tailgate

  • Youth soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball clinics for youth ages 3-12
  • Cookout, games, and giveaways

“Through the Y Northwest Fest, we hope to show the Monroe County community a variety of opportunities to help keep our town happy and healthy,” said Kevin Vail, Membership and Northwest Branch Director of the Monroe County YMCA. “Healthy living can be possible at all ages, from the young to the young at heart.”

On Saturday, November 9, Joiner Fees will be waived on all new Monroe County YMCA memberships at both the Northwest and Southeast Y branches.
