Winds Knock Out Power To Several Southern Indiana Residents

(BEDFORD) – Wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning kept power crews busy throughout South-Central Indiana.

Duke Energy says they had at least 4,000 customers without power Saturday night.

The Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department and Utilities District of Western Indiana work to clear the roadway on Seighbolt Quarry Road near Maple Run Estates Saturday evening. A tree fell on powerlines knocking out power and blocking traffic.

The Utilities District of Western Indiana was reporting several outages in their coverage area, with a tree knocking down power lines on the Seighbolt Quarry Road in northern Lawernce County. Judah area residents are reporting power outages for over three hours on Saturday afternoon.

As of Sunday morning, there are still several without power in locations throughout the State of Indiana with over 8,000 customers still in the dark.
