(MITCHELL) – Only one Democrat will remain on the Mitchell City Council as two incumbents lost in this year’s election.
Larry Caudell was the only Democrat who was able to hold on to his seat in the Mitchell City Council races which had contenders in every district and the At-Large seat.
Incumbents Everett Ferrel and Joey Slone were not able to hold on to their seats in Mitchell City Council District’s 3 and 4.
Republican Perry Reynolds received 54.97 percent of the vote compared to Joey Slone’s 45.03 percent. Republican Daniel Talbott received 50.81 percent of the vote compared to Everett Ferrel’s 49.19 percent which was the closest of all the races in Mitchell with just a 14 vote spread.
