(BEDFORD) – A male teenager was arrested Thursday afternoon after a woman pulled up to a Bedford police officer’s car parked in the parking lot of the Bedford Boys and Girls Club Teen Center at 12:40 p.m.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, the officer was running radar in the area when the vehicle pulled up and requested assistance.
“The female driver was upset and had a visible injury to her right eye,” says Chief Moore. “The victim said while taking her 14-year-old grandson to the doctor he became upset and hit her, causing her right eye to swell.”
The officer detained the teen and juvenile probation was contacted.
The male was transported to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center by a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department officer on a charge of domestic battery causing injury and juvenile delinquency.
