Holiday Market
Don’t miss the Holiday Market! The TubaSantas fill the Market with the holiday spirit while you snack on roasted chestnuts, shop amongst local farm vendors and artisans, and visit with St. Nick.
Volunteer elves are needed to help with scheduling train rides and carriage rides, roast chestnuts, supervise cookie decorating, and collect participant surveys.
Date: Saturday, November 30

Banneker Afterschool Program
This is an after-school program at Fairview Elementary for K-6 students, providing scheduled homework time, tutoring, and community clubs for structured leisure time.
Volunteers are asked to commit to consistent days/times for a minimum of four weeks. Training/orientation is provided in advance
.Last day to register for volunteer shifts is Friday, November 15.
Date: August 7 – December 19
Volunteer Ages: 18+
No. of Volunteers: Up to 10 per day
Teen Leadership Institute
Make a difference in a teenager’s life! This teen-centric drop-in program includes homework help, mentorship, recreational activities, occasional field trips, and basketball games.
Volunteers are asked to commit to consistent days/times for a minimum of four weeks. Training/orientation is provided in advance.
Last day to register for volunteer shifts is Friday, November 15.
Date: August 7 – December 19
Volunteer Ages: 18+
No. of Volunteers: Up to 10 per day.
Preschool Story Hour
Music and movement enhance the richness of children’s literature.
Volunteers lead participants through music, dance, and read-aloud activities for up to 25 preschool children each week.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of four weeks.
Last day to register for volunteer shifts is Monday, November 18.
Date: Mondays, Aug. 19 – Dec. 9
Volunteer Ages: 18+
No. of Volunteers: Up to 4 per week
Baby Time
A drop-in, half-hour snuggle and playtime for parent and baby.
Volunteers help organize and lead sensory and interactive storytelling activities for up to 15 infants and their parents each week.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of four weeks.
Last day to register for volunteer shifts is Wednesday, November 13.
