(BEDFORD) – Jeffersonville won nine of the 12 events while splashing to a 112-64 victory over Bedford North Lawrence in the season-opening meet during girls high school swimming action on Saturday.
Alyssa Miller was a double winner for the Red Devils, claiming the 200-are individual medley (2:23.87) and 500 freestyle (5:34.28). She also anchored Jeff’s winning 200 and 400 free relays.
Ursula Patton won twice for the Stars, taking the 200 free (2:08.14) and 100 free (58.23). Kaitlyn Hackney touched first in the 50 free in 27.08.
“I was really happy with the effort, although the conditioning is not there yet, the effort is 100 percent,” BNL coach Terry Tlustek said, “It was nice to get a meet under our belts with a young group of girls. There is a lot of room for improvement, and I hope the girls will pay attention to the aspects we need to change.”
BNL will return to action on Nov. 26 in a home meet with Edgewood.
