(BEDFORD) – Three people were arrested after a Bedford Police officer attempted to stop a gold Mercury Grand Marquis for a traffic violation near 20th and H streets on Saturday morning.
The driver refused to stop the vehicle. After some time, he finally pulled over in the 2000 block of G Street.Â
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Steven Sykes, of Bedford.
“After Sykes was removed from the vehicle he attempted to pull away from officers while being detained and finally was handcuffed and placed into a police vehicle,” says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. “Officers had information that inside the house Sykes stopped at there was a man wanted on an active warrant.”
Inside the home, officers found and arrested 34-year-old Austin Perry on a warrant for petition to revoke.
Officers then located and arrested a third male hiding in the garage. The male was identified as 34-year-old Jerrod Fields.
While on the scene officers found meth, a syringe and drug paraphernalia.
Steven Sykes, of 2017 G St., was arrested on two counts of resisting arrest.
Jerrod Fields, of 807 US 50, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe.
Austin Perry, of 325 Heltonville Rd., was arrested on a warrant for petition to revoke and additional charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
