(BEDFORD) – Police issued summons to appear in court to 40-year-old Derrick Robbins and 24-year-old Kimberly Walton on charges of possession of marijuana.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department log, an officer was called to a residence in the 700 block of Glendale Way just after 1 p.m. on Sunday to do a welfare check on a teen who was sending suicidal text messages to his friend.
“Once at the residence the officer discovered that the person of whom the welfare check had been requested did not live there,” says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “However, while talking to Robbins at the door of the home, the officer could smell the odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the residence.”
The officer investigated further and found marijuana in the home and issued a criminal summons to both Robbins and Walton to appear in Superior Court II.
