(MONROE CO.) – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor CLR Inc. will open a temporary runaround detour route on State Road 46 over Brummett Creek on or after Wednesday, Nov. 20, weather permitting, for a $1.7 million bridge replacement project that let in August 2018.
The project has been delayed due to flooding in the area earlier this year.
The runaround and temporary bridge will remain in place for all State Road 46 traffic through project completion, which is expected in late summer 2020. During construction, the speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph near the detour. The bridge is located approximately 4.5 miles east of State Road 446 in Monroe County.
Motorists should follow the reduced speed limit, use caution and drive distraction-free in and near the construction zone.
