Herbert H. Allen, 90, of Bedford, died at 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the White River Lodge.
Born December 7, 1928, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Doyle and Ella (Pritchett) Allen. He married Sarah Sue Embree on May 30, 1956, and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2002. He retired from General Motors open hearth. He was a member of the UAW Local 440 and had
attended Gullets Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his six children: Mike Allen of FL, Carolyn Godsey and husband Wilburn of Monticello, KY, Mark Allen and wife Wanda of Bedford, Kevin Allen, and wife Jessica, and Bradley Allen and Patty all of Bedford, Jeff Allen and wife Connie of Clarksville, IN; eleven grandchildren: Wendy, Brittany, Brandee, Marcus, John Michael, Eric, and Tyler Allen, Kayla Abel, David and Eugene Godsey, and wife Lori, Kimberly Ford; nine great-grandchildren: Samuel Brockman, Everette Abel, Addie Abel, Logan Allen, Aubrey Allen, Axel Allen, Luna Allen, Chasidy Fletcher and Casey Godsey; three great-great-grandchildren: Jackson, Isaac, and Braden Fletcher; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Bryan Allen, and one sister Kay in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at Bartlettsville Methodist Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27th with Bucky Charles officiating. There will be no calling hours.
