Obituary: Olive Bell Pruett

October 17, 1925 – December 6, 2019

Olive Bell Pruett, 94, of Shoals, passed away December 6, 2019, at the Loogootee Health and Rehab, in Loogootee.

She was born October 17, 1925 in Martin County to Claude and Mary (Kutch) Walton. She married William Russel Pruett on November 29, 1941, in Martin County and he survives. Olive attended Robison Grade School. She worked at Crane Naval Base during WWII in supplies, was employed at Washington Rubber Company and retired from Reliance (later known as Perfect Fit) in Loogootee. She attended the Church of the Cross in Shoals and was a member of the Washington Chapter #210 of the Eastern Star for 52 years.

Survivors include her husband William Russel Pruett, her two daughters, Mary Lynette Bauer, and Katherina Jo Beard; one daughter-in-law, Linda Pruett of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Joshua Bauer and wife Rachel of Shoals, Jennifer Dearwester and husband Casey of Loogootee, Kaili, Kash and Kenna Beard of Sarasota, Florida, Chris Pruett of Evansville, William Trevor Pruett of Denver, Colorado, Andrea Lee Pruett and Lee Finley of Denver, Colorado. Seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Russell Pruett and Kim Hobert Pruett.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with Pastor Brian Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m.
