Virginia Sue Essex, 84, of Bedford passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019.
Born March 14, 1935. in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Homer G. and Nada M. (Henderson) Fisher.
She married Hubert Ratliff who preceded her in death; second to Don Puckett, who preceded her in death then she married Ronald Virgil Essex on June 21, 1980, who then preceded her in death on December 31, 2014.
Virginia was a Nurse’s Aid at Westview and secretary at Indiana Limestone during her lifetime. She loved dancing at the Boogey Barn and the Senior Citizens Center in Mitchell. Virginia also attended Dive Christian Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Rick Ratliff, Daniel Ratliff, both of Bedford; one daughter, Donna Case of Bedford; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Gerald Fisher of Tennessee, Jimmy Fisher of Bedford, Lily Barringer of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; two sons, Mickey and Rick; brothers, Glenn, Richard, and Joe; and a sister, Martha.
A graveside service will be held at Dive Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, with Ken Fisher and Dave Self officiating.
