Herbert Wheeler, Sr., 79, of Bedford, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, at his residence.
Born February 1, 1940, in Brownstown, he was the son of Benjamin and Ivy (Wells) Wheeler. He married Louise Spaulding on June 7, 1964, and she preceded him in death on January 29, 1998. He retired as a machinist for Otis Elevator.
Survivors include a son, Herbert Wheeler, Jr., of Bedford; a daughter, Judy Wheeler, of Virginia; three grandchildren, Teresa King, Tyson Hall, and Jessica (Hall) Lybrook; great-grandchildren, Annason and Daxtyn King, Hailee and Haley Hall, and Saylor Lybrook; a brother, George Wheeler; a sister, Ruby Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Hazel Gerkins and Lola Anderson, and a brother, Howard Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday, December 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
