Leslie Clarence Stockton, 84, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at his residence.
Born February 26, 1935, in Lawrence County, Indiana, he was the son of Leslie and Edda Lora (Stover) Stockton. He married Betty Lou Payton on April 11, 1979; and she survives.
Leslie retired from General Motors working in the Layout department. He was a member of Fairview Community Church; board member of SICIL; member of the Medora Masonic Lodge #328, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite.
Surviving are his wife, Betty, of Bedford; children, Debra Kay (Lee) Van Gelder and Anthony G. (Mary) Stockton; step-children, Jama Darlene Inman-Webster, Robert (Diane) Inman, and Gregory Inman; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Kosciolek; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roland Stockton; step son-in-law, Rex Douglas Webster; granddaughter, Melinda L. Louden-Skimehorn; and siblings, Wilma Wilson, Paul Stockton, Lorene Collins, and Cecil Stockton.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in White River Baptist Cemetery in Buddha. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Masonic Rites service will be held at 7 p.m.
