(BEDFORD) – Owen County State Bank is expanding its market in Southern Indiana by opening a new banking center in Bedford at 2115 West 16th Street in the commercial center behind Pizza Hut.
The Bedford location will be Owen County State Bank’s seventh branch and first in Lawrence County.
The Bank currently has banking centers in Spencer, Gosport, Ellettsville, Bloomington, Linton, and Bloomfield.
On Monday, January 20, the Bedford Banking Center will open and offer a full range of services including checking and savings accounts, IRAs, CDs, mortgages, commercial banking, and a variety of lending options.
Bob Taylor, President, and CEO of Owen County State Bank claim the expansion to Bedford aligns with the Bank’s strategy to grow by providing local banking services to communities in Southern Indiana.
“I believe Owen County State Bank will be a great fit here in Bedford and Lawrence County because we are a community bank, locally owned, and locally managed. We make our decisions promptly and I believe Bedford residents and businesses need this type of service,” stated Taylor. “We are happy to have great local people, Tracy Bailey and Michelle Jenkins, here working for us. They are both from Bedford and they know many people in the community.”
Tracy Bailey, a life-long resident of Bedford, will be leading the Bank’s expansion into Lawrence County.
“We are in the business of people. We take pride in our personal service and we take it seriously. Anybody can cash a check. We want to get to know people and understand their needs so we can help them reach their financial goals,” stated Bailey, VP Market Executive.
The Bedford Banking Center will be managed by life-long Bedford resident, Michelle Jenkins. Michelle brings many years of banking experience in the Bedford market.
Jenkins said, “I’m really excited to be part of this. I enjoy taking care of people and their finances. My goal is to make the Owen County State Bank experience friendly and professional.”
The Bedford community is invited to join us for our Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, February 5th at 11 a.m.
