(MITCHELL) – Fire crews are still on scene of a house fire that started earlier this morning at 1338 Pumphouse Road.
Marion Township Fire Department and Mitchell Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire at 1338 Pumphouse Road at 9:48 a.m.
The initial call indicated there may be people trapped in the house.
Fire crews arrived and found smoke coming from the residence.
“As lines were being stretched the fire intensified. As of now, there are no reports of injuries. Homeowners are on the scene with fire personnel as we try to investigate the fire,” says Paul Gillespie Marion Township Fire Chief.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Chief Gillespie is asking people to avoid the area until operations have ended.
