Steven Mark Butcher, 48, of Fayetteville, passed away at 1:36 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at his residence.
Born May 12, 1971, in Germany, he was the son of Herman L. Butcher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country in Iraq from 2005 to 2006. He was an explosives handler at Crane Naval Depot.
Survivors include his father, Herman L. Butcher; three brothers, Tim Butcher, of Bedford, Brandon Butcher, and Tyler Butcher both of Bloomington; a sister, Erica Butcher, of Bloomington; his fiancé, Kelly Lewis, of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary with military rites conducted at 3:00 pm at the mortuary by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Contributions may be made in Steven’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
