(BEDFORD) – A Bloomington man was arrested Saturday after he caused a disturbance at Walmart.
Bedford Police officers were called to Walmart at 4:28 a.m. after a report of a man walking around the store talking to himself.
When officers arrived they found 52-year-old Dennis Bland sitting on a bench near the front of the store with his personal belongings scattered all around him.
“Mr. Bland showed the usual signs of intoxication and he was asked to use his cellphone to call someone to pick him up,” he said. “He refused to make a call and threw his cellphone. When officers went to arrest Mr. Bland he pulled away from the officers several times.”
Bland was transported to a local for a medical evaluation. While being evaluated he began yelling and screaming at the hospital staff.
After being cleared by medical staff he was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
