(BEDFORD) – Two men were arrested after Bedford Police officers made a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at Mitchell Road and Able Avenue.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, an officer was on routine patrols when he observed a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Steven Knepp traveling at a high rate of speed and once he caught up to the vehicle he noticed it had an expired license plate.
“While speaking with Knepp and the passenger, 24-year-old Clark Cornelius, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” says Chief Moore. “While searching the vehicle officers located two types of medication that Knepp stated belonged to him but he didn’t have a prescription for. Officers also found marijuana. Officers also located two marijuana ‘blunts’ on Cornelius.”
Cornelius, of Loogootee, was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of possession of marijuana. Knepp, of Cannelburg, was transported to jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana.
