Glenda Jackson, 83, of Bedford, died Sunday, February 16th, 2020 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 6, 1936, in Amarillo, TX, she was the eldest child of Helen and Glen Palmer. Glenda worked as the manager in charge of the Chamber of Commerce in Lemon Grove, CA., a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Bedford, president of the Board of Realtors of Bedford, worked as a leader at Century Twenty One Real Estate and eventually owned the successful Jackson Real Estate of Bedford.
She enjoyed quilting, crafts, any kind of game, and most of all…family. She loved to travel and got to see so many interesting places… via trains, planes, automobiles and all sorts of interesting modes of transport. Always ready for an adventure.
She is preceded by her husband Thomas Jackson her mother Helen Palmer, Her father Glen Palmer. Her sister Pamela Newman, and her brother Buddy Palmer, and grandson Frank Lee Gladden. Glenda was the mother of five hildren; Vickie Nahay, Ronda Button, Tammie O’Dell, Linda and Anthony Newbold, and Timothy Jackson. She was the grandmother of 19, great-grandmother of 27, and great-great-grandmother of 2.
We treasure her life, her legacy, and the love and sacrifice she made so freely.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to funeral service.
