The Monroe County Community School Corporation and the Foundation of Monroe Community School Corporation will host the fourth annual Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) conference on Saturday, March 28th at Bloomington North High School from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
The conference is for girls in grades 5th and 6th in Monroe County.
Girls will have the opportunity to work with female role models and enjoy the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math – STEM.
The morning will open with a Career Expo from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m
At the expo, girls and their families can explore and learn more about STEM career opportunities.
After the Career Expo girls will be divided into small groups to work with female experts in STEM education and industry. Groups will participate in five hands-on activities in the fields of engineering design, chemistry, biology, forensic science, technology, and math.
The registration deadline is March 13th.
