(MARTIN CO.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a complete road closure on U.S.150 in Shoals.
Beginning on or around Monday, March 23, contractors will close U.S. 150 at a location about two miles east of the junction of State Road 550 and U.S. 150 for a geological slide repair and replacement of small drainage structures. This is the first of three locations in which work will be performed. Crews will stabilize the slide digging below it and repairing the drainage issues that create the slide. They will then reconstruct the area.
Work is expected to last until the middle of October, depending upon weather conditions. During the closure locals will have access up to the point of closure, but all other traffic should use the official detour following U.S. 50, S.R. 60, S.R. 37, U.S. 150 and S.R. 56.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
