(BEDFORD) – An Orleans woman is facing additional charges after she struck a jail officer during the booking in process at the Lawrence County Jail.
On the evening of March 5th, 43-year-old Dana Hagemier, of Orleans, was booked into the jail on charges of public intoxication and residential entry.
While changing from her street clothes into a jail uniform Hagemier became combative.
“A jail officer attempted to restrain her at which time Hagemier used her knee to strike the jail officer in the stomach,” says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “With the assistance of other officers, she was brought under control. The jail officer was not seriously injured but did complain of pain to the area that she had been struck.”
Hagemier was arrested on a warrant for this new charge of battery on a public safety officer on Friday morning.
